World Book Week - information and dates

27th February 2025
Dear Families,
Further to our initial communication about our World Book Week in the last newsletter, please see each day's activities below with final confirmed dates:

Monday

Drop everything and read!

Everyone in school will stop what they're doing at the same time and READ!

Tuesday

Swop classes and share books with peers

Wednesday

Class Assembly ‘The Masked Reader’

Can you guess who is reading behind the mask?!

Thursday

Bring in favourite book and share with class

Book inspired cake bake

Bake a cake designed on a book that you enjoy. We would like as many people to bring in a book inspired cake as possible. We will then cut them up and sell them on Friday after school.

Friday

Dress up as book characters (if you would like to)

Whole school assembly to show off our costumes!

Book swop in playground

Please bring in any good quality unwanted children's books to swop in the playground. You will get a token for each book you bring and you can then use that token to take another book.

Book cake sale

We will be selling slices of the cakes to raise money to buy books from our wish list at 'Bag of Books'.

We do hope your child enjoys World Book Week and the different activities on offer!
If you have any queries, please do speak with your child's class teacher or a member of the English team (Mrs Bennett, Ms Callow and Ms Ferber).
Thank you,
Irena WoolerHead Teacher
